My Nani was the best cook ever!  At least my family thought so.  And now I'm sharing her recipes with you, the same ones I grew up eating. So, buon appetito!

Serves 8 – 10

1 Package Spaghetti noodles

4 to 6 cans Tomato Sauce (depends on how thin or thick you want your sauce)

2 cans Italian Stewed Tomatoes – drained and chopped

½ Green Bell Pepper - diced

½ medium Onion - diced

McCormick’s Italian Seasoning (a modern convenience)

Garlic Salt

2 cups sugar (THE SECRET INGREDIENT!)  (it cuts the sharpness of the tomatoes and gives your sauce a savory, mouth watering sweetness)

1 small can chopped mushrooms-drained

2 lbs hamburger

1/8 cup Olive Oil

Parmesan cheese

In large pot add Olive oil and spaghetti noodles to boiling water and cook until noodles are al dente, or well done, depending on your preference.

While spaghetti is cooking fry hamburger, diced onion and diced bell pepper in large, deep fry pan.

Once hamburger is thoroughly cooked, add 3 tablspoons Italian Seasoning, mushrooms, drained stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce and sugar.  Sprinkle with garlic salt, regular salt and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.

Drain spaghetti noodles and place in large bowl, or in individual bowls for serving.  Cover with Spaghetti meat sauce and serve.

If using individual serving bowls, a slice of bell pepper on top with an added dollop of meat sauce topped with cheese makes for a nice presentation.

Parmesan Cheese can be sprinkled on top, or left to guests to choose to add if so desired.
